About 

Kirsti Kuusk is a highly acclaimed violinist, currently  based in Boston, US. Her playing have been praised for its technical excellence , emotional depth and beautiful sound.

As soloist, chamber musician and concertmistress Ms.Kuusk has performed in some of world's most prestigious concert halls.

The most recent appearances includes her debut recital together with Pavel Nersessian at Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia, recitals in Boston,MA, Newport,RI and concerts in Norway with violin duo "Baltic Sisters", created by Ms.Kuusk and Lithuanian violinist Dalia Suraučiute.

Born into a musical family, Ms.Kuusk began violin lessons in her native Tallinn, Estonia at the age of 5. She continued her studies at the world famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where her principal teachers were Natasha Boyarsky, Elizaveta Gilels and Maya Glezarova. Still a student Ms.Kuusk performed as soloist with Estonian State Symphony Orchestra and Moscow Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and made recordings for Estonian Radio and Television together with her sister, pianist Klarika Kuusk.

Moving to Sweden, she became concertmistress of Gävle Symphony Orchestra and later of Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, under baton of charismatic chef conductor Okko Kamu.  Ms.Kuusk also served as Guest Concertmaster of Estonian State Symphony Orchestra, Trondheim Opera Orchestra, Malmö Opera and other Scandinavian Orchestras.

She has collaborated with Orchestra de Paris, Orchestra Philharmonic of Radio France, Chamber Orchestra of Paris , Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and worked together with famous conductors, such as Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Pierre Boulez, Alexander Vedernikov, Paavo Järvi, Hannu Lintu, to name a few. Ms.Kuusk is currently member of Estonian Festival Orchestra.

Beside her orchestral career Ms.Kuusk continued to perform as soloist and chamber musician, having played concerts and participated in International Music Festivals in Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, Argentina, Costa Rica and United States.

Ms.Kuusk plays a 1757 G.B.Guadagnini violin.
